Pezmc's version is still better even though you updated. Maybe you should incorporate his weather effects into yours.

The amazing response from the Ikariam community has made breaking the hosting terms.
Along this week Ikariam Solarium will work again properly.

EDIT: Source updated. ( Jun 20, 2008 )

See http://ikariam.pezmc.com/solarium/ or http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/28000 for version 1.7 of the script now with random weather and faster image loading times. (all hosted in UK/America)

Your lycos.es host is terrible, it keeps on going down and the images load so slowly anyway. Would you be interested on hosting them on my server? Something like solarium.pezmc.com/noche/ solarium.pezmc.com/Amanecer/ solarium.pezmc.com/Atardecer/.

Might save you a bundle on bandwith too!

It is broken atm, no images load and all ikariam pages are just white. Is your image host down?

Anilo: if you want to do that, it's "only" (as in lots of work, but no technical hurdles anywhere) to redo all of your animated images three times more, based on each of Foxtrod's three different shades of day, installing ikariam solarium (the linked version sets a class on the body tag for Noche, Atardecer, Amanecer and no class at all for daylight, where your current rules come into play) and adapting your css rules accordingly.

People that install only one of the scripts then get only that script's looks, people that install both will get the features of both, and if you use the exact same CSS selectors (you should), then people can even select which variant on Town Hall / the port they prefer, by ensuring that that script is listed (installed) after the other.

Actually, come to think of it, I think if you just use your present animated ikariam, and the linked variant, you'll get your own animated ikariam daytime and Foxtrod's scenery for dawn, dusk and night, when the city should be peaceful, anyway. :-)

Hi, Foxtrod II. I saw your work Ikariam Solarium and I red around
hundreds response on the boards of ikariam (CZ / IT / ORG / COM / GR) or userscript.org. Many of that was about connections of Animated Ikariam and Solarium.
And I think it great Idea so, What do you think about compatible of our scripts to combine its produce and release a one big graphic pack?

I did it with firsts graphic tests, finally excluded. First because it's an UI option. Second, because these small icons with darkness were cumbersome to see. :p

(For the #worldmap_iso #worldmap .tradegood1 through .tradegood4 css rules.)

Thanks! Same thing with the resources in world map (/skin/resources/icon_worldmap_wine.gif, marble, glass and sulfur), perhaps? They get rather shiny at night. :-)

(If you do change them, I'd love to request a night version of /skin/resources/icon_wood.gif too, since I add that one to the world map in Kronos Utils, to show all resource levels on the world map.)

/skin/img/island/city_constr.gif in island view could use a nocturnal image too, by the way, for those of us colonizing new places under protection of the darkness of the night. ;-)

I think I'm responsible for the script bug; it's apparently something wrong with my switcher code -- but commenting out the setTimeout call should get rid of the symptom, for now (and stop the automatic change -- I'll probably find a real fix later).

Also, I seem to have introduced three trailing ");}" on the three phase3 lines, which makes some views break. (I updated my version with that change; should be done in short work for yours as well).

Hmm, cool idea, but this doesn't seem to be working correctly in my size 16+ cities, it is making my aqueduct and canal disappear. FF 2.0.0.14, GM 0.7.20080121.0, local time 19:14.

Yeah, I´m having exactly the same problem: after 21:00, when it should change to nightfall, the script crashes. However, after 0:00, the script works normally, which made me think the problem was solved. So, please fix that bug.

Well...the script is no longer working properly now. The dusk and day effects have no problem, but the night version causes the script to lag and not work at all (I´m using Firefox 3b5, but it was working before).
Anyway, this script is really great. And I agree, your animations are much better than Ikariam Animaton´s. The smooth animations fit better in game´s feel.

Now code is updated with your clean up. We must fit transitions, then there will not be only three tonalities, will be a real transition! I will check something. We must keep it up.
Nice to meet you!
