Script Summary: A Pitchfork Media + Rhapsody.com Mashup

RhapEx (Rhapsody Explorer) is a Greasemonkey script that allows you to quickly view and play music via Rhapsody.com when browsing the Pitchfork Media website.

When you are reading a record review on the Pitchfork website, RhapEx will add a small toolbar to the upper left corner of the page. If the record you are viewing is available on Rhapsody.com, you will be able to immediately play, view, and bookmark the album.

Usage

Once you've installed RhapEx, try visiting a record review on Pitchfork like this one: Deerhunter, "Cryptograms." Once the page loads, you'll see the RhapEx toolbar appear in the upper left corner of the page. Depending on whether the album is available on Rhapsody site or not, you should see a couple of different links. Here's a complete list of what could appear in the toolbar:

View | PlayClick "View" to see the album details on the Rhapsody.com site or "Play" to start playing the current album.
View (Play Unavailble)Well, RhapEx found it but due to licensing agreements, the album isn't available yet. Click this link to view the album details on the Rhapsody.com site.
Not Found: Click to SearchRhapEx couldn't find the album but you might be able to turn it up with a keyword search.
ErrorSomething went horribly wrong. We'll do our best to fix it.

Thanks

Big ups to Mark Pilgrim and his book Dive into Greasemonkey.
