Bulk Bookmark Management Tools for Del.icio.us v0.3.2

Current Version: 0.3.2 - Updated 08/05/2008

The Del.icio.us Bookmark Management GreaseMonkey script will add 2 links to your del.icio.us pages. The links will allow you to either share or delete all displayed items on the current page. You can search for items or narrow down the results by selecting a tag.

  • Modifications for Delicious v2 Website and FF3
  • Use of GM API instead of del.icio.us web page calls (this does require the user to sign into the delicious API)
These modifications will get the script working again with the latest updates to the Delicious website and FF3. After I first made this script I found the yumyum script. Admittedly this script is better than mine which is why I haven't made too many updates to this one. However, since the Delicious upgrade yumyum doesn't work. So long story short, here is an update to this script.

Version: 0.2.1 - Updated 03/20/2008

After clicking on the 'Share Displayed' or 'Delete Displayed link a dialog box will pop up to verify your selected action and give you a current status of the operation.

  • OK starts the operation
  • Cancel stops any running action and closes the dialog box
  • Delay indicates how many seconds to pause between deleting or sharing an item. 2-5 seconds is optimal. Any faster and del.icio.us will interpret as a DoS attack and block your IP
  • Backup Bookmarks invokes the del.icio.us backup functionality to save bookmarks to an HTML file.
  • Message Area updates with each bookmark. (ex. Sharing X of Y : Bookmark Name)

Hmm, the login prompt seems to pop up behind my main window (Firefox 3.0.1), judging by Expose, and I can't get to it either to login or to get rid of it.

One more update to move where the Delicious API call is made. This is to make the login prompt only show if you are going to share or delete.

Thanks Jeton. I had never tested with those options turned on (I didn't know they were there). I have updated the script to look for a different identifier when making the decision on showing the links. I tested with those profile settings turned on and the links show.

Update: I think i know what the problem was.
I went to my profile settings and removed my site URL, e-mail address, and name. Then the links showed up.

If I choose to show my Name, e-mail & URL, then the links get "covered" by that line i believe.

Maybe this helps you sort out the script as well.

I have Firefox 3.0.1
I deleted the script, also the folder from the Profile, re-installed. Same thing. No links shown.
Anyone else experiencing the same?

What browser do you have? Please make sure that you have the latest version of the script and that it is not cached.

The new links should show up under the "Bookmarks | Network | Tags | ..." line.

This sounds nice, but it doesn't work in FF3 for me. Hope you get a chance to update it soon.

Please note that this may not work in FF 3. I am currently looking at this and will post an update as appropriate.

Thanks
