Last.fm - Top Artists Preview

Builds a chart for your top artists for the current week - based on your recent tracks page (from Sunday 6pm to current day).

Notes
- You need to be logged in.
- Install script to get settings (if you change the settings click 'save'), reload page to start update.
- First time you update, chart could take longer than normal to build since you need to get all the pages & artist data, after that things will be stored and updated quicker.
- Sometimes last.fm is slow to update on Sundays which means the script might not show at all after 6pm on Sunday until last.fm has updated its Recent tracks list.

Hello, it's me again ;)

I've noticed a bug in the script. In my preview charts there's always an artist named 'undefined', even though i don't listened to the band with this name nor i have songs with broken id3-tags. In the preview-charts it's on position 2, so this bug is quite common.

I've only listened to correct-tagged songs in the past few days. Could it be that the script isn't able to handle some sort of special characters in band names or so?

Thanks for your help in advance :)

For some reason - and i like this reason even if i don't know it - works this script now with the german version of last.fm.

I'd like to thank you, Lowe! I'm in love with this script!

Thank you :)

hmm you're right, it doesn't work on lastfm.de, I've contacted Lowe and let him know. Give him some time to try and resolve it.

Hi mnortei!

1.: Thanks for your help!

2.: I did as you told me, but it doesn't work at all.

But I noticed, that the script doesn't save some settings, even if i apply them; namely "update friend list" and "clear chart data". I always put them on "yes" and apply the changes. But every time I look at the settings again, it's set to "no"....dunno what I can do else hmmmm

Is it possible that this doesn't work with a *.de-domain?

What you should try, Wombi, is uninstall (make sure you select "Also uninstall associated preferences") the script and reinstall with the following settings and see if that works:

Update friends list: Yes
Clear chart data: Yes
Clear artist data: No
Clear position data: No
Remove blank artist images: No
Update artist data (2 weeks): Yes
Set update time (hours): Your choice

And make sure to be logged in. I use these settings and it works fine for me :)

Hi!

I installed this script two times by now (even the updated version), but it doesn't seem too work (or maybe i'm just too impatient...). I'll try to describe it: (sorry for the bad english :))

- After installing i reloaded the userpage. Then the setup appeared. I just clicked "save" an then "close" and reloaded it again.

- I read it could take longer to update it the first time, so i waited. But after starting my PC again this morning the setup appeared again, as if i haven't saved it before. So I saved it again, but nothing happened. It clicked Update...and again nothing.

- Then I saw that you updated your script, so i installed the updated version. Same procedure, nothing happened.

So i'm wondering if i'm just too impatient or if there might be some bugs in the script? Or have I made anything wrong?
