Custom MySpace Home

Version 1.52 - Remove ads from the new MySpace home page and arranges your page to make best use of the space. ALSO HAS A SETTING FOR WIDESCREEN/HIGH RES USERS! AUTHOR: Seifer

This custom (rearrangement) MySpace home page script is for the new skin only.

This script supports InsaneNinja's Home Auto-Update.
To run both scripts correctly, arrange your scripts in Greasemonkey to run the auto-update BEFORE this script.
To do this, after installing both scripts, right click the monkey icon on the bottom right of FireFox, choose Manage User Scripts.
In the list of scripts arrange for MySpace - Home Auto-Update to be above Custom MySpace Home.

Screen Shot

The following screenshot is while running version 1.43 on wide screen mode and using Home Auto-Update.

The following screenshot is while running version 1.43 NOT on wide screen mode and is using Home Auto-Update.

Changing Settings

As of version 1.4 you no longer have to set any values in the script!

Simply right click the GreaseMonkey Icon in the bottom right of your browser when your on your MySpace Home, then hit User Script Commands...

From here you'll have the ability to:
Toggle Wide Screen Mode
Toggle the New Control Panel
and Toggle Display of Home Auto-Update Controls if you are using InsaneNinja's Home Auto-Update Script.

Version History

Version 1.52

Re-added support for InsaneNinja's Home Auto-Update.

Version 1.51

(Yes, I think I screwed up my version numbers LOL.) Fixed my code being stuffed up when I pasted it into userscripts.. also adjusted the friends space again.

Version 1.45

Updated to fix for new MySpace update. Also changed friends layout so that you can still see the "Online Now" image even when a users picture is really high.

Version 1.43

Updated to show more friends per line in your friends space when using wide screen mode.

Version 1.42

Fixed one line of coding due to MySpace homepage change (announcement box.)

Version 1.41

Added support for MySpace - Comments on Homepage

Version 1.4

Settings are no longer in the script. They are now in the GreaseMonkey User Script Commands menu when you right click the GreaseMonkey icon.

Version 1.31

Now displays a link underneath the MySpace/Toms Annoucement which allows you to hide THAT update. IE. The next time the update changes, it will automatically show up on your homepage again til you click the hide link.

Version 1.3

Added an option to use "wide screen" mode for high res users (on by default.) Also now works properly with InsaneNinja's auto update script.

Version 1.22

Now removes the mobile myspace ad and the application box. Also now has most lines commented so you can stop it from removing certain things. And last of all, I removed the control panel and added my own drop down one underneath the profile picture. You can turn this on and off by editing the script.

Version 1.21

Minor update. Added link-back to script and moved other Userscript link-backs to beneath the friends list.

Version 1.2

Fully supports MySpace - Home Auto-Update. See below for recommended settings for the auto-update script.

Version 1.1

Now works with MySpace - Home Auto-Update. The only thing that doesn't work yet is when you change to "Online" friends they are all messed up. I'm working on it.

Version 1

OK. So I haven't made time in months to do a real update on my MySpace Customization script over at http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/12646 so I have released this very basic re-arrangement script just to satisfy myself. This isn't customizable, all it does is remove the top ad, the google search bar, all the ads in the right column and puts the Friends' Status Updates in there. Hasn't been throughly tested and probably will not work with InsaneNinja's auto update or anything like that. Seifer

My Myspace Home Rearrangement Script (aka. Customize It) has finally been updated.

This script allows you to move any module to any position you want.
Check it out if this script isn't quite what you want :)

I also do not have access to the user scripts commands for this script. But i have had this problem with other scripts that i am supposed to be able to control that way as well...

this script is good, but I'm really looking forward to an updated version of your "MySpace Home - Customize It!" Script.

haha, good to see the new screenshot.
Couple things I've noticed.
I can't tell on yours but on mine for the friend updates there seems to be a big space between the last update that it shows and the bottom of the table.
ex: http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/4868/screens...
I know I have the birthdays on homepage script enabled, but I just left it there to illustrate. It does the same thing with only yours active.

Also, when there's a friend with a picture that's extremely tall in the friendspace the "online" icon doesn't show for them. constraining them to a set height would probably be the only thing to do, and have the friendspace still looking good, seems like the scrolling friendspace I had a while back looked kind of iffy. dunno.

glad the auto-update is working well with this, I think you fixed it a while ago but I must've not had them ordered or updated right.
good work.

@VzjrZ
Are you using any MySpace apps?
Also, what MySpace country-specific site do you use?

I'm using the Australian one.. I haven't checked the international sites..

The screenshot is still old.

I don't know about putting them beneath the control panel, maybe I'll have an option to toggle them between under the CP and under the friends list.

The profile pic is in the middle if u have it on widescreen mode.

I hadn't even noticed that applications weren't showing up with your script. But in my opinion they should be below the control panel dropdown menu.

also, is the screenshot you have up there the current one? because for me my profile picture and control panel are in the middle column, i prefer it that way, but just wondering if it should be how yours looks

@Kythca
Ok, I think I know what the problem is.

I did not design this script to work with applications, I probably should have mentioned that.

I'll add some applications to my homepage and work out how I can make it work.
Where should I position the applications?
I don't use any so I'm not really sure.

I would just put them underneath the friend's list.
I'm going to update the screenshot soon so you'll know what I mean.

Oh yeah and as for the other scripts i have running, there are a few, but when i disable them all the only thing that changes is that some additional ads show up in the far right column.

Kythca User

I do have it enabled and while i am on the homepage it still does not show up in the submenu. It doesn't so much rearrange the page, what it does is hide the extra control panel as well as the application menu box (the applications are still there, but the list of them is not). And it adds a pull down shortcut menu below my default pic. But there are still no options showing up in the user script commands submenu.

@Kythca
The Commands only show up when the script is enabled and you are actually on your home page.

Does your homepage get rearranged or is that not happening either?

What other MySpace scripts are you running?

I am having a problem with this script not showing up in the "user script commands..." part of the greasemonkey menu.

I had this happen once before with a script that didn't show up after i installed it, so i reinstalled the greasemonkey addon itself and then it worked, but this time that didn't work.

Any advice?

oh my seifer, you're a beautiful man. You don't know how much I've been wanting to request that you or someone make a wider version, it just seems like so much space is wasted on my screen. This looks great! and my friend space looks good across the bottom, with a certain amount of friends it used move around all weird.
thansk seifer.
the new control panel is interesting too, I was about to say that there wasn't one but I just noticed it
(dropdown under personal picture for anyone else that's silly like me)

Just about to upload a new version.
This one has an optimization for wide screen users (or just high res)

Hopefully this will fix your problem.
