Simple eBay Item Links

Create cleaner links to eBay items.

Don't you hate how eBay item links have the item name in the URL now? You want to show your friend the crazy kangaroo scrotum change purse you found, but the link you sent them looks like http://cgi.ebay.com/Crazy-Kangaroo-Scrotum-Chan...
and the joke is ruined! Well, worry no more; this script changes the item number at the top left of the item listing to a link which leads to a cleaner and more comically appropriate link.

would be great if you could add

http://cgi.ebay.de/*

to the pages that script applies to.

FWIW, it's working great for me using FF 1.5.0.5 and GM 0.6.5.20060727

Don't know what the problem is for the others, works fine for me running FF 1.5 and GM 0.6.4. Also added ebay.co.uk to it without problems.

I'm not sure what's wrong -- it works fine for me, even on the link you posted.

Maybe there's some confusion -- it's not meant to dynamically rewrite the URLs for item pages, it just adds a link to the page that will let you get at a simpler URL. Look in the upper right corner of the page you link to -- see how the number "5670464101" is a link? Either click on that to get to the simpler URL, or right-click and use "copy link location".

P.S. I added ebay.co.uk as another site but it doesn't work on ebay.com either. :(

It doesn't appear to work for me.

I have FF 1.5.0.1 and GM 0.6.4 and my links look like:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/9-Kangaroo-SCROTUM-purses...
