Script Summary: Grassroots Media - Overlay photos and blog posts on the BBC news site
Version: 0.21
HackHUD is a proof of concept. It attempts to enhance mainstream news sites (e.g. BBC News) with a layer of grassroots community content - from bloggers, photographers, and the like. The idea is to propagate the news and views from the streets, alongside mainstream media.
The script takes advantage of Yahoo Pipes, YUI and the Yahoo Term Extraction API. It feeds in content from Flickr, Technorati, Newsvine, Wikipedia and Twitter.
Originally developed at Hack Day London, the script won a BBC prize for the "Hack that should have been on the BBC site yesterday".
