Script Summary: Retro styled Penny-Arcade "theme"
Skinning penny-arcade
This script pays homage to the feel of the previous (original?) Penny Arcade site, circa 200?-2005. I missed the silly background images and funky color palette of the original design. The site's new design, though much cleaner, felt a tad drab to me.
Backgrounds and Headers
The space invaders are back! So too is the classical "P.A. Blue" color for content blocks. The headers have also discovered what it means to be loved:
Navigation Buttons
Bring back the whimsy! I embellished here a bit... Obviously, there are new icons that draw creatively from the original site. Layout has also been altered slightly.
A Word on Ads...
I've chosen not to remove ads from the site, though it would be trivially easy to do. The PA guys have the most ethical policy on ad placement I've encountered on the web, and they deserve those click-throughs.
