RapidShare Quick DL

Last update on Oct 8, 2005

RapidShare Quick DL

Skips to the download and bypasses the timer for http://www.rapidshare.de links.

This is still in 'beta' (its version 0.9) and seems to work with all Firefox / Greasemonkey versions.

I developed it with Firefox 1.5 B2 with Greasemonkey 0.6.2 through, so please report any and all errors.

Please leave a comment telling me if it works or not, and what your config was (Firefox / Greasemonkey version)

Thanks, and I hope you like it.

[Uploaded 10-8-05]

[Updated 10-31-05]

[Confirmed to work with Fx 1.x and GM .5.3 on 10-12-05]

[Final Information - added 2-21-06]

1. Rapidshare has upgraded their servers

2. Userscripts can not answer captchas

3. Wait time is now server-side

4. I have toyed with auto-refreshing, but I cannot disable that alert()

Reccomended usage:

1. install it so it clicks 'Free' for you

2. enter captcha

3. wait at least half of the countdown time

4. click the button

Successfully jumps to download screen.
Adjusts time >40 to 40.
However, counter bypass no longer functional. Rapidshare server returns an error, unless you wait the entire time.
Using Firefox 1.5.0.2; GM 0.64

Great idea about settimeout(), i dont know why I hadn't thought of it. I still dont like that it'd show the 'what do you want to do with this file' and inturrupt browsing, but I suppose its better than forgetting about the tab. Changing the tab color I don't think is possible from within greasemonkey - if it is, please let me know :)

I'll probably have some time to work on this later. About scripts for other sites; I dont ever see links to them, so I dont see a huge point.

I like the idea of manipulating the tab to indicate ready to download.... in this case after 40 seconds? Its a bummer that the timer is server side. Im surprised they had not done that sooner! I have already edited 0.8 to merely click the free button. I hope you will keep innovating.... and EXPANDING to other free file sharing. Perhaps you could fix the filefactory.com script? kudos.

about the download limit, you can bypass it by disallowing cookies and changing your IP (in DOS window:
ipconfig/release
ipconfig/renew
, or in your router's settings)

remove that "broken" tag, it works if you follow the instructions (wait ~40 sec before submitting).
would be nice if the script could read out the waiting time before resetting the counter, and auto-submit the form via setTimeout (check if captcha has been entered). I tried to code this but I couldn't get hold of the form element... weird

Works great, is it possible to remove the download size limit in future versions?

I.e. you can only download a set limit from rapidshare an hour, removeing this would be great if possible.

"all" that effort trying for nice comment formatting for naught, eh? I'd email it to you but you seem to use gmail.

"If you can think of a solution to some of this"

As there's now a captcha I'd like to see (if possible)

0) I open RS link in background tab
1) GM automagically push free button
2) when download timer expires GM changes the tab color or gives focus to the background tab so I can click download

This will avoid me forgetting about the download tab and having to wait through another timer because my session expired.

There is a small problem. I doesn`t work. It runs fine till you enter the captcha. the there's an error calling "Download ticket nicht bereit". In english "Download ticket unready".

1. You have to wait about 3 seconds, i've found. Thats serverside.
2. You still need to type the captcha. Can't really fix that, for obvious reasons.

works fine for me but yes, you have to wait 30-60 seconds before downloading or else a javascript error occurs. Also (rapidshare is getting smarter/bulkier), you now have to read & type in a random 3-character sequence b4 dwnlding.
