Script Summary: Places unread count in favicon and title bar on Feedly
With the shutting down of Google Reader, I've been searching for a new RSS reader that fits my needs. So far feedly has been the only one to come close, unfortunately, I depend on the number of unread items being shown in the Tab Title Bar (and Favicon), and feedly doesn't do this automatically.
Therefore, I wrote a quick userscript that adds this key function to feedly allowing me to quickly see if there are any unread items for me to check out.
Exclude the Must Reads count in the toolbar count.
Added cloud.feedly.com to the include/match parameters.
Fixed issue with Scriptish when using setTimeout and setInterval. Using window.setTimeout and window.setInterval resolves issues with Scriptish and doesn't adversely impact GreaseMonkey or TamperMonkey.
Added Grayscale Option for Favicon - please note, the only way to notice your unread counts when the tab is pinned is to turn on the Unread Count option.
Seems Firefox doesn't support innerText, so I changed it to innerHTML
This is a rewrite of key functions to strip the dependency of jQuery so that GreaseMonkey options can be presented in a Menu to turn on and off the showing of unread items in the Favicon.
Added unread count to favicon
Fixed issue with Category Unread count being duplicated due to the "All" header.
Rewrote most of the script to try and capture a better unread count using both the sidebar and the feed bar. It compares the category counters to the feed unread counters and uses the largest number in the title bar (which gives it a better more accurate count and resolves the feed unread counters being wiped out by feedly issue).
Changed reading the category unread counters to reading the feed unread counters. However, feedly removes the feed unread counters when collections are opened and closed in the feed bar, so that introduced an issue.
Added descriptions and version to the userscript to make it work better in Greasemonkey and Tampermonkey
Removed the counter from the title, when there are 0 unread items
