Thanks, The Dot for a quick response. Oops. I just realized that I had both Gmail Addons and Enhance Gmail in my greasemonkey. I just removed Enhance Gmail and keep Gmail Addons. It works! :-) Thanks.

@snowman143 : searchforsunrise says that this 'problem' was fixed with the new version of this script - Gmail Addons. Please read the description of this script (at the very top) for a link to my new script.

Hi, please read below (from searchforsunrise) I have this same issue. Are you planning to fix it? Thanks.

i seem to be having the contact list issue again, the one that just shows me as "loading..." the entire time, although my contacts are visible. it's not a huge issue, but it prevents me from being able to change my status and/or status messages. just curious if you've noticed the problem resurface on your end too.

ive tried disabling all scripts and extensions (other than this one), but no change. i've even tried a different computer with a different firefox profile, clean install, and different g-mail account - same issue.

is it just me? :D

Please read this first

Hello everyone. This script is deprecated in favour of my new script, Gmail Addons.

Install the script 'Gmail Addons' instead of this one. It works the same and will give you the same interface and features.

Find it here: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/19956

Please also post new comments and requests at the new script as i will now be working with that one.

Thank you.

@darudude: yeah. thats a nice idea. ill try to get the whole bar to float though. thanks for the idea :)

@watergeus: im really sorry this isnt working for you. another thing you could try (well... i guess you wouldve tried this until now but even then...) is to move back a month and then forward. that refreshes the calendar. as a last resort maybe the next version of this script might work. im sorry i cant fix (or recreate this problem - i have that extension installed too (with the same options))

@totanzio: thanks for that information. ill check if theres a secure interface for that.

@searchforsunrise: yeah... im trying a new way of loading things in the next version of this script. *hopefully* that will take care of your problem.

thanks a lot everyone !

@ The Dot

not a problem, just giving my little bit of feedback =)

anyhow, the "loading..." issue is only present with the script enabled. i've yet to see the issue at any time other than when the script is enabled, since your first release of the script. i've tried disabling all extensions/scripts (other than greasemonkey and this script), and it seems like (in my case, at least) that the only remedy is to disable this script. the issue very well may just be specific to me :(

everything else about the script works fine (except for removing the invites box), to my knowledge. it's such a great script, since i use google calendar heavily. hopefully we can find out what's causing this issue =)

@Mike,
Use firefox and you need the add on Greasymonkey that you can find here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748
then you can click on the 'add script button'.

@The Dot,

I've tested it both with and without the calendar script.
I've the customizeGoogle add on(which is really cool too). For gmail, I checkmarked the security option and the fixed font option in customizeGoogle.
Perhaps you can test your script with the same add on and options?

The chat (http://talkgadget.google.com/) goes via http only, that's what break the lock, if I disable the enhanced chat this is fixed.

A cool addition would be to fix the position of the calendar and chat links. Then you don't have to scroll all the way to the top to close the calendar. This is especially handy if you are reading extremely long threads of emails.

I dabbled into the code a little bit and added the following lines to the area which inserts the links:

EGCalState.style.position='fixed';
EGCalState.style.zIndex='1';

this should allow for the text to scroll with the screen

@searchforsunrise: thanks a lot for coming back to tell me about this. it really helps. this sort of error does happen, i suppose to everyone, even to me when i dont have this script installed. its just one of those random moments when gmail goes weird. don't worry, itll come back to normal. if it doesnt please let me know.

@watergeus: have you installed the other script: enhance google calendar? also, what steps can i take to recreate that error?

@totanzio: i suggest that you do not worry about this. the message in particular will arise when firefox realizes that some elements on a page are delivered by a secure connection and some by a non-secure connection. you might get this message for instance, immediately after logging out of gmail on some computers. i suggest that you dont worry about it. for now i have changed the script to work with the secure calendar interface by default. i hope this fixes your problem.

When I use this script, firefox says not all the content is encrypted(using https). What's that? thanks

Hi Dot,
like your script verry much.
But combined with the addon 'customizeGoogle' I'm running into trouble 'cause https doesn't work correct and when I try to add a new appointment in the calendar,no new appointment is shown. I've tried the last one with and without your calendar script.
Cheers,
Watergeus

@fredrok, spaceshiptrip: yeah sorry i didnt see that. okay. the answer is that aim contacts are NOT included in this interface - as of now that is. the reason is because i didnt actually make the chat interface. i merely incorporated it into gmail. the chat that this uses is actually very similar (or the same to those who can get that) to the google gadget (such as the one you can use on your personalized homepage). until google releases an update for aim contacts to be included in this, which i personally think they will soon enough.
(http://lifehacker.com/software/gmail/gmail-adds...
http://blog.wired.com/monkeybites/2007/12/gtalk...
http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&...)

note that when google does choose to update this, aim integration will automatically appear in the script as well. ;)

Sorry for the silly question, I've very new to this.. :(

I saw the comment about GTalk and AIM, is there a way to actually have AIM contacts included in GTalk?

Thanks..

The Dot - I'm just seeing the normal GApps blue bar - nothing like the modified Gmail.com bar.

UPDATE: Google apps support reported broken - thanks Robert Andrews

Normal gmail users have nothing to worry about as the script will continue to work.

Google apps users note that the script does not support google apps yet.

Arrghhh...

hmm does the top bar look the same in google apps as in normal gmail or is it the other thinner blue colored bar ?

If it is the blue colored bar then it will take some time i suppose.

Thanks a lot Robert !

Not working in Google Apps Mail using Gmail 2.0 and Firefox 2.0.0.1.1 Mac OS X. No top nav items appear - but they do in plain Gmail.

UPDATE: It now works with google apps

@tbw: done ;)

@fredrok: hmmm youre sort of reading my mind here. i was hoping to get something like that up. but it wont be up that soon because its quite a big idea (and im really busy :p (with my exams that is...) ). i hope you can make do with this for the time being.

@gabriel019: get firefox www.getfirefox.com . get greasemonkey https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748 . come back here and click install script. ;)... still in doubt? use the forums http://userscripts.org/forums .
