torrentz.com OnClick Download

Allows direct .torrent file download on torrentz.com

It's an enhanced and updated version of Torrentz.com Direct Download script.

Adds an onclick event to the links. When link is clicked with left mouse button direct .torrent download will start. When clicked with third (normally middle) mouse button original page will be opened.

Script guesses torrent file path using it's page address. Link is always light blue.

Not-immediate download
Link has some color between light blue and yellow. After clicking script has to check the page content for torrent file name, while doing so it blinks. If checking succeeds link turns light green and .torrent download starts, otherwise it turns red.

Indirect download
Some sites do not allow torrent file download if not redirected from it's own domain. In that case script first opens the page and than starts file download, without waiting for page to be completely loaded. Link is yellow. Don't use it unless you have to.

If page isn't supported link is light red. If you find any, please, post a comment along with torrentz page link - I'll try to update the script ASAP.

For me, it happens on all mininova torrents. I believe it also happens on other torrent sites as well, but I haven't paid too much attention to those. I know it always works on thepiratebay.

I've had the same problem on both XP and Vista. I tried from a fresh install of firefox, so addon compatibility is not an issue. If it helps, I'm using Firefox 3 and uTorrent. I'm also behind a NAT router.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

dmix: Again. Is MiniNova site working for you ? Does that happen with all MiniNova downloads or just some of them ? Could you post some torrentz.com link where this happens ?

MiniNova hasn't been working for me since February. I see it load at the bottom but the download box doesn't pop up.

I'm using Firefox 2 on Leopard.

vomit: It works for me. Are you sure mininowa page was operational at that moment ? When you click at the link with third (normally middle) mouse button normal site should open.

I have problems using this script with MiniNova torrents. I click the link and the status bar shows activity, but I never get a download popup like I do with all the other websites.

I'm using Firefox 3 Beta 3.

Update (version 0.1.0), script almost completely rewritten. Changes:

  • Torrent no longer replaces current window
  • Possibility to download all torrent files with one click
  • Not-immediate download now checks the page after clicking on the link, so seedpeer won't be buged without need. Default color has changed.
