Version: 2.1

Thumb Thumb Thumb

Info

Awesome script for you hardcore Google Reader users who want to maximize your RSS reading efficiency. :) This makes the Google Reader top GUI really compact. Check out the screenshots above to see the difference with this script.

Update notes

v2.1, 25 June 2012
 - The script does now work on localized Google domains (.se, .co.uk etc.).

v2.0, 3 June 2012
 - Added a Search button to the top left corner of the GUI, to the right of the Subscribe
button. This button brings up a panel where the search form can be found.

v1.0, 30 March 2012
 - Initial version of the script. Manipulates the CSS to make the GUI compact and pretty.

Known issues

  • The search field is resized to 200 pixels width if the window is resized.
  • The Search and Subscribe buttons don't look exactly the same when clicked/active (:active in CSS).
  • The Search panel isn't closed when you click outside the panel.
Since I don't have much time to spend on this myself, I will probably not fix these minor issues. However, feel free to leave a fixes in the Discussions board.

Tested on platforms

The script has been tested and works on the following platforms:
  • Ubuntu 12.04, Firefox Aurora 14
  • Windows 7, Firefox Aurora 14
(Hopefully it works on more platforms, but it isn't anything that I have tested. ;) )

Available as a regular Firefox add-on

This script is now also available as a regular Firefox add-on! Check it out at this URL: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/...
