Google Custom Top Menu v1.3

Script Summary: Customizes Google search's top menu, placing the items you want in the order you want. This script is still a work in progress, but it works!

v1.3:
  • The "Search" entry was coming up as "null" in the iGoogle home page. To remedy this I simply prevented the entry from showing up at all if it's "null". "Search" isn't needed on the iGoogle home page anyway.

Changes in v1.2:
  • Fixed some links that didn't always display properly
  • Added links for Twitter, deviantART, and WordPress
  • Added a menu item for the default "More" dropdown menu

This script is a mod for Google search's top menu. I have found that a lot of people have wanted to be able to customize that menu, and with this script, that becomes possible.

I tried to make it as easy as possible to customize, but you still have to edit the script in order to do so. You can see where you edit your menu items near the top of the script. Simply write the items you want in the order you want. Any items you leave out will not be displayed. Simple as that.

While the script does work, it hasn't been tested thoroughly. If you find items not appearing correctly (sometimes in a different color or font, or positioned strangely, or missing completely), please let me know.

Remember, this script is still a work in progress. This version doesn't have the "More" dropdown menu. I plan to add that so it will display the items you have not added to your custom menu. That way you can at least still get to them if you want to.

Once I've finished and stabilized the script's ability to customize the already-available Google links, perhaps I can add in some specially custom links to some popular sites like Facebook, Twitter, or whatever else. I'll probably provide a way for you to easily define your own links to be placed in the menu bar.
