Depositfiles download timer remover and download slot getter

(v1.2) Gets a download slot for you and lets you download right away without captchas or timers

Don't have a download slot for the file you want to download on depositfiles.com? Don't worry; this script will get one for you!

This script continuously tries to get a download slot for a file on depositfiles.com until you've been given a slot. When you get a download slot, you'll be taken directly to the page with the download link.

You can set an option as to whether to automatically download the file. This allows you to download the file automatically, if you like. Or, you can simply click the download link manually to start your download.

The script has been fixed. You don't even need to enter the captcha now. You can either automatically download and save right away or you can just click the download button right away.

Edit: There should be no dialogue box pop-ups any more, apart from the one asking for your preference the first time you run the script.

They've updated the page structure. I'll look into fixing the script.

This was working fine until I went today...now all that you get is 'Timer not initialized' on the page so they obviously got wise to this script and have rewritten their code...
Any chance you can rewrite yours too...?
Was great while it worked so thanks :)

The first time I go to deposit files with this script installed, it ask me if I want to allow the "automatic download of the file", I've selected "cancel", but it go to the download page anyway... Worst of all, appears the counter clock about three seconds, but then is replaced for the error "Timer not initialized", and doesn't show the captcha. What happen to this???

I've noticed that this script seems to be popular. This is probably because there aren't many other scripts for Depositfiles. Are there other download sites--like Depositfiles--for which people would like me to develop scripts? Some download sites may be under-represented on userscripts.org.

scollector:

Make sure that Greasemonkey is installed and enabled in Firefox (the monkey should be in colour in your status bar). When you click the install link, you should -not- get a download dialogue. Instead, you should get a Greasemonkey installation dialogue.

Loki, Please help me. I could not get this script run. When I press button "install this script", I got a message to save it. Then I double click to run it but it popped out with this message:

Script: C:\Documents and Settings|.....11630.user.js
Line: 99
Char: 33
Error: Expected identifier
Code: 800A03F2
Source: Microsoft JScript compilation error"

Bryan Reynolds:

Could you provide the URL of a download that does not work. I may have missed something, or the script may be broken for different languages, et cetera. If you provide an example URL, I can try to identify the problem you have mentioned.

I have not experienced the problem you described, so being able to see it firsthand would be useful for me.

Many thanks.

This script does not work. In fact if you leave it running on a download page it will INCREASE the timer due to the failed tries. Please fix!!

Sohi:

It should ask you your preference regarding automatic downloading on the first use of the script.

If you want to reset the option so that you're asked again for your preference, uninstall this script using the "Also uninstall associated preferences" option enabled. Then, re-install the script. The next time you use the script, it will ask you for your preference.

I really am a newbie when it comes to this stuff but couldn't you just call the capture by yourself?
Like this line in code or something:

http://depositfiles.com/get_download_img_code.p...

so the script will show the capture regardless of the website.

Just like veespike says, the countdown code apparently does a "refresh image" just a second before the timer runs out and thus invalidates the captcha you can have shown earlier.

Depositfiles must have broken it. It does not work as of Nov 26. The captcha routine seems to be off by a step. When you see the entry box, you do not initially see the captcha. If you refresh it, the one you get in not the one it is looking for, and the time starts again. You will circle that loop until you stop greasemonkey.

I tested the script today (8 November), and it seems to be working with both the automatic download option and the alert option.

I tested the script with the following URL: http://depositfiles.com/en/files/2299927

It was the first one Google found.

If you'd be so kind as to provide a detailed description of what's not working and the URL you used to test the script, I'd be more than happy to address the bug you've found. As it stands now, I can't find the bug, since I haven't been able to reproduce anything.

Thanks for your feedback. If anyone finds any bugs in the script, I'd be happy to address them if you post descriptions of them here.

I look forward to your description of the bug! ^___^
