This script was written to provide web developers with a notification of the rendering mode for their page. My hope is that if you can see when you're page causes BackCompat mode (quirks mode), then you can easily fix the code before it becomes a problem. Just make sure that it always says CSS1Compat. Insert the text as a text node at the bottom of the page.
