WebCT fixer

Script Summary: Attempts to make WebCT (tested on version 4.1.5.8) more user-friendly.

This script has been designed to work in both Opera and Firefox. It attempts to do the following (most of which can be optionally disabled):

  • Direct attatchment links: In discussion posts, "See Attatched" links are replaced with direct links to the files.
  • Reverse thread order: On the discussion page, reverses the order of the threads so that the most recent appear at the top. Note that this breaks if you 'expand' a thread on the listing page.
  • Add href to links: This allows you to open links in a new tab. You can also optionally include the main WebCT frame in these new tabs.
  • Quick discussion link: Adds a quick link to the discussion boards from the 'homearea' page, even when there are no new postings.
  • Iconify discussion threads: Makes the favicon of threads different from the thread listing, also changes the window title to the subject line.
  • Big thread links: Makes the whole subject line a link to the thread in the listing.
  • Opera fix: Stops the 'unsupported browser' popup from appearing, and tries to fix the back button.

This script has only been tested on one version of WebCT at the ANU campus; your results may vary.
