Mailto Envelope

v0.2: Unlink mailtos (toggleable) and add linked envelope with title showing exact mailto address.

Tired of clicking on links and get surprised by Microsoft Outlook popping up? No more!

This short and simple script will find all "mailto:" links and add a small envelope right of the link. Then you can click on the envelope if you want to send email or move your mouse over the envelope to see full address.

By default, the script also unlinked the links while adding envelope. If you want to leave the links alone, just change "var unlink = 1" to "var unlink = 0" (without quotes).

Worked very well with "Mailto Compose in Gmail" and "Email Linkify".

Tested on Firefox 1.0.7 and Firefox 1.5.

Apr 30, 2007 Rasti User	Great !!! Exactly what I want I run a public internet center and im tired from newbies asking me why they cannot send the email from outlook. Then i have to give them a class about pop3, smtp, etc. Finally i have to explain them copy paste functions, etc. With this script the link dissapear and so my irritation. Because they will handle the "low tech way" (pen and paper) and naturally will open their web based email of choice, put the adress on... This is better than Target Alert
