Script Summary: Disable Gmail's "Consider including" email recipient recommendation functionality and other annoyances.
Version: 1.04
As of Version 1.01, a couple of other annoyances are also removed. This script does not, and will never, serve as an ad-blocker, UI-customizer or anything else. Gmail is great, except for the parts which aren't, which are hidden. Please note there is also now a disclaimer/terms of use statement at the bottom of this page.
- Version 1.04 compensates for additional changes relating to the "new look." It seems they may be transitioning to a new naming structure. Please leave a comment if you discover issues.
- Version 1.03 should fix some intermittent complaints relating to Gmail's "new look."
- Version 1.02 includes the 1.01 edit and also alters "Your message has been sent. Invite [recipient] to Gmail." so that it only reads, "Your message has been sent."(screenshot below)
- Version 1.01 <strike>removes "Switch Friends to Gmail" link.</strike> Gmail has mercifully removed this content, rendering this particular version moot.
As of this version, the script uses both CSS hiding properties (visibility: hidden and display:none)(screenshot below). - A future version of this script might include a "click for recommendations" option which would toggle the suggestions, but probably not. You know who you want to contact.
