Internet slang cleaner

Script Summary: Cleans internet slang from web pages. Version 1.2.4.

Tired of reading 'sentences' that contain slang abbreviations such as

  • r u
  • u
  • plz
This script replaces slang abbreviations with their proper translations and cleans the language in general. Currently only a limited number of English slang words are supported, but feel free to contribute more by contacting the author (instead of forking).

By default only few sites are processed, so add your own includes using Greasemonkey's settings. Contact the author for adding new default includes.

Settings

Change the value of the following setting from about:config:
  • default.language: Default language for pages that have no language set on them, default "en"
  • show.changes: Show changes by underlining, default true. Not showing the change makes the processing probably a tad faster, but I haven't measured this so I can't really make any claims.
