Script Summary: Enhances MOG Beta player with album reviews, shuffle, and playlist sorting. Version .3 adds playlist sorting and track deduplicating.

This script is for the MOG Beta app (mog.com/m). It adds:
  • MOG and AllMusic reviews.
    These are pulled into the MOG Beta app from the standard MOG site.
  • Shuffle in the queue.
    This is courtesy of the mog plus user script, from which I freely copied.
  • Playlist sorting.
    Adds an "Order Playlist" button to all playlists. Clicking on it sorts and dedups the playlist. Sorting is by album and track, at the first appearance of the artist in the playlist. Not all playlists need sorting, of course. Some are highly curated. But for music discovery, where you like one track and want to throw a bunch more tracks from an artist onto the playlist, or when track order is important, the sort at first appearance function is useful. The MOG beta app also has some weaknesses around maintaining playlist order, so this helps.

Notes:
  • Album and track long name tooltips were removed in this version because MOG added them.
  • The reviews could use some better formatting in this context, but they're perfectly usable.
