If you read Slashdot for many years, you know that nowadays the comments just have become plain idiotic. The blinders of ignorance and egocentric hatred grew over the years. But the fact that they now mod down comments going against the MAFIAA propaganda, and half of the users have become Apple fanbois, really is the last straw.
While years ago comments were more informative than TFA/TFS itself, now they are just a waste of time. They live in their own delusional reality (well, it has been fashionable to do that in the US for quite some time now, hasn’t it? ;), consisting of their basements, and stewing in their own grease.
So the best move, is to not get caught in that grease in the first place. By removing the comment section completely.
