I've not been using this script for a short while and find it extremely useful. I often would have to copy and paste search terms or re-write searches into different services, and now with this it saves having to do that for the common search engines.
What makes this script genius is it doesn't only find searches from known sites, it uses the recognizable formats of a search in a url and therefore allows you to move from whatever obscure site you use onto another site with no prior knowledge.
I am a big fan of minimal wasted space and usually stay away from toolbar-style addons but this deserves a place above the status bar.
Not only does this let you replace all your little "Add alternative search links to..." scripts with one unified interface, it also provides a nice "no editing required" customization mechanism and generally "just works" on any site which has a search mechanism. (as well as Last.fm artist pages, which is really nice)
I suggest setting it to appear at the top of the viewport so it can be used like a more personal and useful equivalent to Google's "alternative search types" header.
At first I thought this would make some bulky crap pop-up, but now that I see what it truly does, wonderful! An unobtrusive bar at the bottom giving you quick links to other search engines? And it follows you there to keep you well? Brilliant!
This userscript is absolutely fantastic, and such a time saver. I can see results of my search phrase from search engine to search engine soooo easily now. This was EXACTLY what I was looking for in search engine convenience. I'm shocked this userscript is'nt ranked #1 in downloads.
I cant thank you enough for providing such a perfect piece of coding that's brilliantly implemented.
Please keep up on the development of this userstyle, as I would certainly be lost without.
