The fact that the NYT site doesn't have a pref to default to single page format always annoyed me, and I should have gone looking for a script to solve it well before now. There are some older ones on this site, but I liked how this one was written (not that I know much of JS) and appreciate how it does the job without incident. I use it in Opera 10.
