I'm glad it works well for others. It does work in Vista 64 with wmp 11. Though, it takes much much longer to buffer, like a minute! Flash buffers within a few seconds. Also, on my setup, I cannot skip around in the video, nor see how it buffers, the slider simply stays at the beginning. It has a real hard time trying to outpot auto HD, which I have enabled through a script called "HD Suite". While it does play automatic HQ and HD, it buffers forever on all videos, then stutters a bit as well. Flash has none of those problems for me, but who wouldn't want to use a media player instead? If it worked faster as advertised, then it would be legendary. I do think that video probably looks better in any media player, rather than the flash player. That may be a placebo effect though. I tried this out for faster or better looking results, but it was much slower for my setup. Too bad, it's a wonderful idea that I will continue to experiment with if possible. Maybe in Win 7 it works faster. I have about 21 or so mbs. I also have bywifi running off a ramdisk. That is a streaming video accelerator. It still works with or without this, but it doesn't seem to get results with this installed. Bottom line? Buffering issues make it unusable for my current set up.

works both on xp and 7. best script so far, ~1% CPU use for normal videos, too bad i cant seek the whole video with xp+wmp11 only the buffered part. in wmp12 it works perfect,it must be wmp11's bug. Keep up the good work!

Tried it in XP but I never got it to work, when I went to Youtube it told me to install them after I already did, I reinstalled them and tried it a second time but nothing, just the same old player.

I am running Firefox on Mac OS X with the QuickTime plugin installed, which also works like a charm with this script.

Flash really slows down my computer, so it's nice to be able to just view the preencoded h264 version of YouTube videos automatically.

This script is very useful and made everything a lot better for me. Windows 7 haves a built-in decoder that lets you use your GPU instead of your cpu! Thank you, for making a wonderful script!
