Great on Firefox! No Opera, though. :( , Sep 7, 2009

As far as Firefox goes, this is an excellent user script. 5 stars!

Unfortunately, it doesn't work at all in my primary browser, Opera. I won't retract points for that, as most user scripts are designed to work with Greasemonkey and/or Stylish and don't take Opera's native user script capabilities in mind. I do suggest you look into it, though. There are many Opera users that would be very glad to not need the terrible Flash plugin to watch YouTube videos.

No longer works (Aug 2011) , Aug 6, 2011

I used this script for ages and it worked great. However, it no longer seems to work. I think YouTube changed the format of the page. Instead, I'm now using this script which works beautifully:

Only thing I'd wish for was loading the youtube srt subtitles into the video.

Thankyou! This doesn't work on my Ubuntu 10.10 system (FF 3.6.10) when trying to use the VLC plugin, but it works excellent with the Totem (Generic Player) option. This cuts my cpu usage dramatically, is faster, and can be popped out easily. Thank you for this excellent script!

Missing Controls , Dec 13, 2009
Review written by JohnSF - see all my reviews (1)

The player allows my 8 year old
Pentium IV computer to use VLC
for smooth play without dropped
frames. This is what I have been
asking for at the SeaMonkey forum.
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=4...
The player is missing controls for
sound volume, pause/play/stop and
has no full-screen capability,
though there are 2 size options.
It would be perfect if the
controls could be allowed and
full-screen.
Is this an issue for VLC instead?

Assolutamente lo script migliore per youtube , Oct 16, 2009
Review written by Danielsan - see all my reviews (1)

Complimenti all'autore!

Can't work out how to use it , Dec 28, 2010
Review written by Half Being - see all my reviews (10)

I'm sure this is great if you know how it's supposed to work, but how it works is beyond me. There are a huge number of controls and options, but all I want is to be able to tell the browser to use something other than Flash, and it's not doing that. What are you supposed to do?

Gives much higher performance than viewing videos with flash!
