Can't work out how to use it , Dec 28, 2010
Review written by Half Being - see all my reviews (10)

I'm sure this is great if you know how it's supposed to work, but how it works is beyond me. There are a huge number of controls and options, but all I want is to be able to tell the browser to use something other than Flash, and it's not doing that. What are you supposed to do?

Thankyou! This doesn't work on my Ubuntu 10.10 system (FF 3.6.10) when trying to use the VLC plugin, but it works excellent with the Totem (Generic Player) option. This cuts my cpu usage dramatically, is faster, and can be popped out easily. Thank you for this excellent script!

Best script of its kind , Jul 16, 2010
Review written by doorknob60 - see all my reviews (3)

Shows all the quality options right next to the video, defaults to the highest (if you want it to), and allows you to download it too! It's perfect! And just in case, it's simple to switch back to Flash too.

I can play 1080p videos with about 10% CPU with VAAPI and the Mplayer plugin with my crappy integrated ATI 3100 graphics. Flash hogs 70%. I had to rename the .so files of gecko-mediaplayer though since they're blacklisted in Chromium though...after I did that it was fine.

My PC is free from CPU overload , Apr 19, 2010
Review written by Edge3 - see all my reviews (1)

I had no idea Adobe Flash overwhelmed my CPU. Other forums suggested it was overheating, etc.

I use Firefox, Greasemonkey, this script, VLC Player and you will cut CPU on an old machine like mine down from 100% to 20% to 50% depending on quality of video you are watching.

Excellent and thank you!

It works with Chrome! , Apr 4, 2010
Review written by Andreyyshore - see all my reviews (2)

I watch videos in flash though.
There is a problem with this script.
It adds another row with "Download... View without Flash... View Flash... Preferences" when I close the preferences with Cancel or Save, and the new links (from the new row) don't work. Only the ones in the first row (the one that loads when I open the page) do.
Anyway, I found a better one. :P

Missing Controls , Dec 13, 2009
Review written by JohnSF - see all my reviews (1)

The player allows my 8 year old
Pentium IV computer to use VLC
for smooth play without dropped
frames. This is what I have been
asking for at the SeaMonkey forum.
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=4...
The player is missing controls for
sound volume, pause/play/stop and
has no full-screen capability,
though there are 2 size options.
It would be perfect if the
controls could be allowed and
full-screen.
Is this an issue for VLC instead?
