No Funciona! , Nov 25, 2009
Review written by Juampi_yoel - see all my reviews (8)

user_pref("security.dialog_enable_delay", 0);

* 5 stars (EXCELLENT) - Not only does everything it claims, but it is significantly more useful than scripts of similar nature. This script is likely to be one you use often and you highly recommend it.
* 4 stars (GOOD) - Useful and easy to use, though not necessarily special. This script is recommended but may be more suited for some people over others.
* 3 stars (PASSABLE) - May have some design issues and/or some missing features. Any problems it has are not drastic enough to recommend against, and some people may still find it useful. Recommended for those who need it and are willing to give it a try.
* 2 stars (POOR) - Script is of low quality, usability, or just doesn't do what it says it should. You are recommending against this script, while noting that it might have some redeeming value for a few people.
* 1 star (BAD) - Script either doesn't work correctly or is utterly useless. You can't think of any significant reason why someone should give it a try and are recommending that it be avoided completely.

See this issue comment as well.

This is an interesting way of hosting a user script preference file... I'm curious if you have a backend/frontend to load it or if it's just here for easy reference.

Its like a sugar pill for firefox. Nothing in this script is going to speed up your install.

Mikado is right. This script will do nothing. You can take the values inside the script and put them in a user.js file to actually change them, but this script won't change a thing. It's totally rhetorical.

This script simply cannot work and it doesn't.

user_pref() function is NOT available for Greasemonkey scripts, therefore any call to it (first, in fact) results in script termination. This means, nothing beyond the first line ever gets executed, and execution of the first line fails due to user_pref() being undefined. If you want to see for yourself, click Tools > Error Console > Errors. You'll see lots of "user_pref is not defined" lines spawned by this "script".

Furthermore, one might assume that this error only happens on web pages, but including "*" actually makes this script run browser-wide (which is NOT the case though) and it sets those preferences at some point. Unfortunately, it doesn't. Type about:config in your address bar to show actual browser configuration. Let`s see, the script is supposed to set "network.http.pipelining" to "true". But there's "false", unless you have configured it earlier or have some extension modified it.

We've just got to the point. You can change the settings this "script" claims to change in the mentioned about:config page. If you google "speed up firefox" you'll see various guides suggesting what values to change and explaining the effects. Use those guides, not the "script" that has lines like "401.54% speedup" in the description. Don't be THAT stupid.
