I can't see why should I go to your unsecure site to update.
Facebook fixer already implements the functionality this script provides anyway.

I have been using FB Purity for a long time now, but, sadly, when the previous version broke, I tried the new one and had to un-install.
There were 2 major issues for me.
Firstly, it hid the Live Feed stories (who made friends with who, who joined what groups etc.).
These were just as important for me as the status updates. Since FB - rightly - brought back the live feed, I have been made aware of mutual friends thyat have recently joined FB, and, as someone who is very politically active, groups/pages are important to me as well.
Secondly, as someone who is using a Facebook skin (and a rather dark one), the stories blocked thing comes up as an ugly white bar, rather than being transparant as previous versions were.
It really is with a heavy heart that I've uninstalled as I've used - and loved - this script for a long time.
I'd like to be able to see which apps it actually blocked. the "show" button was a little misleading to me -- I thought it would show the apps that were blocked. Perhaps "restore", "show changes", and "hide" would work better for options.

This filter should be in the filtering preferences on facebook
It works perfectly. Thank you. I never see those annoying quizzes/applications again.
Awesome script!
This really keeps you sane in facebook.
If you want to keep basic contact with facebook friends without sifting through silly and annoying app news for hours, this is for you.

Facebook Purity is one of the best scripts I have installed (of about 25). It returns facebook to the usable service it once was, stripping the newsfeed of undesired items such as quiz and apps messages whilst providing a whitelist for apps that you do want to see.
The script does break (when fb changes their code) but so far by the time i've noticed the script has broken, Steeev has updated the script and it works perfectly again.
My only wish is that more coders/developers were as rapid and efficient as Steeev
The only glitch is that some blocked items will result in the entire home feed getting hidden. I don't think it is a problem with the script, though. It is easily fixed by showing all blocked and manually hiding the offending quiz (it will highlight blocked items in red) and then refresh the page.
epic, this script is EXACTLY what i needed but was too lazy to write for myself... churs steev!!
