I was not expecting this , Oct 24, 2011
Review written by Olivier FAURAX - see all my reviews (1)

Hello!

First, this script should also include https://*.facebook.com/

Then, I was expecting that the links :
http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http://thesite.com
To be converted to :
http://thesite.com

It seems that this is done with some javascript in the url "onmousedown", so perhaps you can remove it with your script....

Does something I want, but hogs resources... , Aug 30, 2009
Review written by stig hackvan - see all my reviews (2)

I had the unpleasant experience of having my facebook account shut off and I believe that (a previous version) of this script was partly to blame for it.

I do not need-or-want the script to prefetch every single link that facebook throws at me because I'm not going to visit most of them anyway. What I would like is mouse-over de-referencing of the link (extra credit) and an automatic escape from any captive link that FB may try to pull on me...

Watching all the extra web traffic caused by this script -- with the "live http headers" extension -- was informative...

is it not possible to cache the captive links in a database across multiple windows with the same links and browser restarts? This is a general problem ("tinyURL decoder" and "unshorten" have the same issue)...

A little bit of extra traffic per-page from link-dereferencing becomes a HUUUUUGE performance hit when a session with dozens of tabs restarts...

Avoid Facebook's "seamless browsing" , Jan 18, 2009
Review written by Kerim Friedman - see all my reviews (1)

Recently Facebook introduced "seamless browsing" which forces all links from facebook to open inside a frame. This allows you to comment on or share links within facebook, but otherwise breaks the internet. The URL at the top is a facebook URL, not the url of the original webpage. Even worse, Facebook doesn't allow you to turn this "feature" off.

This script does just that. After installing this script, all facebook links open as the WWW gods intended. Thank you!
