Unfortunately the horizontal movement by vertical scrolling is counterintuitive, and you lose the ability to scroll through your day, which is big usability loss unless you've got a big enough screen not to need it. In addition, the scrolling is too fast and hard to control.

What I personally would value would be if the action were tied to horizontal rather than vertical scrolling, then this would be a very powerful tool.
