Very nice. Just don't use Quicktime for your MP4 player ;)

All I ever wanted was for YouTube to use an actual video player plugin and not the closed-source behemoth that is the Adobe Flash player.

This user script makes it possible not only on YouTube, but on other sites as well.

Even if you don't have a player available, it still has a download link. Bravo.

The script works fine and does exactly what it's supposed to do.

foxmajik, Firefox wanted you to download Quicktime because it needed a player to play mp4 files in the browser. Don't give this script a bad review because you were too ignorant to know that.

Finally i don't have to put up with Adobe's slow / "if you play me in fullscreen i'll play at less than 1 frame per second" / "you need latest version - but we don't have it for your platform" aka Flash player!

Thanks for making youtube as easy to watch with a native player as it is with Adobe Flash.

Simple and brilliant! Thank you!

It works great on Ubuntu Linux PowerPC (this plattform is unsupported by adobe).

When I browse to a video I get the "additional plugins are required" bar at the top of Firefox, then it prompts me to install "apple quicktime." Um. No.

Also, why did you add globs for youtube sites when you also added http://* ? It's redundant.
