This script is fantastically useful for making clips that stream on Hype Machine available for download. As of 3/11/09, the script has been at least partially updated to fix issues related to HypeM Machine's redesign on 3/7... but it's not quite totally working for me yet. I'm sure the author is "on it."

Couple of things to know (none of which are in the control of the author)

1. Hype Machine caches copies of files available on blogs on their own server. It transcodes high bitrate files so sometimes the original files are available at a higher bitrate on the original blog (example: 128kbps via the download link but the original blog will have 256kbps versions)

2. Hype Machine's servers limit download speeds to something approximating what it expects them to stream at. So downloading 4-5 songs at once will be slow and cause stuttering if your also playing back streams from the site. Again, not the author's fault.

This is class. Just what I need.

This is a great script if you love Hype Machine. If you don't, then this is the script that will change your mind.

As of April 21 2009 its working perfectly and I can download whatever I want.

NOTE: The download link is a tiny blue floppy disk icon next to the track title. It's easy to miss and it took me awhile to find it.

Like the other reviewer said if you CAN download the track from the blog (especially if you're on the front page where most mp3's are still available from their blogs) then it's probably worth it for the bitrate, but 128k is good enough when its free and you have access to almost everything!

This is my most used userscript. Awesome work.

Because HypeMachine is now all ajaxy, you need to refresh the page that you're in after clicking on a section, since the script only works when the page is loaded.

This is really great, there was only one tweak that I had to make and that is that the script doesn't work when searching for artists. A simple fix, add the fallowing "http://hypem.com/#/search/*/*" w/ out quotes to the included pages and it works fine. Thanks a lot for the hard work!

Not working at this time (June 13, 2009).

When trying to use the script, it only works on the main page of Hype Machine. If I go to page 2, or search for an artist, the blue floppy download icon does not show up. I've tried adding http://hypem.com/#/search/*/*/ like another user suggested but this has not resolved the issue.

Here's to hoping that there's a fix that comes out shortly. :)

There is no dl icons anymore!
I haven't used hypem for a long time and now when I'm back hypem has a totaly new look and there is no DL (foppy disc kind) of icon to click on. Do you guys know if you can still download song from hypem or not? And if you do can u tell me?
