I have version 0.5 of this script, apparently the latest. I have been happily using it for years without problems. But recently I have found that it freezes Firefox for a couple of minutes when used on NetBeans Javadoc [1], which it never used to do. The freeze occurs as soon as the overview page is loaded, even if you do not attempt to use the search box.

I am unsure whether the huge performance regression is due to changes in the HTML or to changes in Firefox (currently using 8.0 on Ubuntu). Either way, the script is unfortunately now unusable for me.
