Very Annoying Update Reminders , Jul 14, 2009
Review written by John2pa - see all my reviews (1)

This script is cool, but the update reminders on the Google home page drive me crazy. They always pop up in the corner of the screen, and they won't go away even if you update Google Black. They are nothing more than a self-promoting tool of the script writer. The script is great, but I won't be using it anymore because I don't need annoying pop-ups with flashing text. Ridiculous.

Gcal Color Problem , Sep 20, 2009
Review written by Roy Kewner - see all my reviews (1)

I really liked the script at first, but had to discontinue it for one reason: most of my entries in gcal had their color stripped from them, in agenda and in month viewing mode. This made the easy-to-see color coding normally in gcal (when one like I do uses many different calendars for work, personal, etc. That color function is essential functionality which was the flaw that made me uninstall ....

ok script , Sep 18, 2009

I like the black theme. But the problem is some text is invisible. I'm from Australia so my google is google.com.au. The 2 tabs where to select "the web" or "pages from Australia" those text are invisible on the results page but main page no problem.

Absolutely gorgeous; but 2 suggestions , Jul 15, 2009
Review written by Paul1149 - see all my reviews (2)

My compliments to the chef. This script is a delight to the eyes. Those of us who spend a lot of time at the monitor appreciate such things.

There is one problem and another enhancement I would like to cite.

First, the drop-down autosuggest retains the white background which makes the text invisible. This is important enough to me for me to consider the script broken as it stands.

Second, it would be great to lengthen the search input box to, say, double its current ridiculously short length.

Ok, I lengthened the input box with the following addition:

/* XXX search input */ "INPUT[type='text'], INPUT[name='q'] {width:675px; !important; background:#333 ...

But the drop-down problem I currently do not know how to get at.

Thanks again,
Paul

Post script, 7/15/09: Gabe has enlarged the search box and fixed the color clash of the suggestions drop-down box, so I'm raising my rating to a Five. The workman is worthy of his wages! :)

Doesn't seem to work , Oct 19, 2009
Review written by twistedvincent - see all my reviews (1)

I would LOVE to have this work, and I can't figure out why it's not. Of course I realize every script will work, but I'M REALLY sick of the giant white Google page(s)
As a matter of fact, the only script that I've been able to successfully run are flashblock and yahoo paint it black.

Almost adware , Oct 9, 2009
Review written by yuval - see all my reviews (2)

This used to be a vreay neafty script. works pretty good.

since last update a small money bag icon was added to all google pages (which is a donation link!!)
and an advertisment link is AUTOMATICALY added to all my outgoing private EMAIL without my CONCENT !!
this is a seriouse privacy issue in my opnion.

after uninstalling and reinstalling the script the problem went away so this isn't adware but since the problem could accure I cannot afford to take this risk of something like this showing up on my emails.

I gave this 3 starts since if this issue happened there has to be some code that supports it. it would be best if that code would have never been writen

Yeah, how y'all doin?

It was about 3 months ago I suppose when I first started looking into this "Black Google" thing. I've always used their search box code in my personal home page's that I write up for my PC at the house and it's always black.

When I found out that there was such a thing as greasemonkey, I was nervous. Who in their right mind would install javascript code on their browser that some other internet junkie wrote, right?

Well, Gabe's creation here made me quit looking for ways to spice up Google. Once I had this script installed on Firefox, it stayed there and hasn't been changed since.

I recently started seeing if I could understand how these work and came up with a few mods for the source that fixed some of the quirks that people were commenting about.

Not only is this script very well written, but the energy behind it is clean and friendly. Call me nuts if you like, but it takes some doing to write code and it takes some heart to make it work as well as this one does.

Thank You Gabe, for the script, the inspiration, and keeping things tidy and logged.

Great Job!

I've been using FF with a dark theme installed, and this is just what I've been looking for. I've found a bug on http://google.com, but it seems to be fixed (somehow) in the recent update. I also wrote a simple script to fix it :) Great job, keep up the good work!

Wonderful script and great introduction to GM and augmented browsing. Plus this looks absolutely fantastic with the Eclipse Theme for XP. Keep up the good work!
