Many hands make less spam

It looks to me like you guys may want to wave the "Power To Delete" wand over a few trusted users. You have better things to do than tracking down every forum and script spammer, but with a couple dozen people, I'd think it would be pretty trivial. There are of course innumerable more clever and baroque ways to address the problem, but they're also more time- coding- and bug-intensive. Picking a few people with their heads on straight and giving them a delete button is fast and easy. |

Well I second this, the spam on the forums (although typically very limited) can be quite an annoyance ... I was doing some looking in the Spam & Malware topic this morning, and it seems no spam's been removed in the past two weeks at least. Something similar was brought up in another topic a while ago, but nothing ever came of that I guess. |

I think I had a pretty solid plan in this topic, and in this blog they seem to reflect some of my ideas - not that I'm saying my ideas are original at all.
- Edit: I will actually do that, but it requires more of my time and I'm a bit busy trying to make those nit-picky users happy, among other more important things. So it will be interesting to see which of us gets done first. |

What I can't understand is why users like this or this aren't deleted and banned right away (and their posts/scripts deleted). Their only contributions are spam, flagged many times, why are this kind of users accounts left untouched? I once flagged a scrap all script, checked the author and found his/her only contributions were about 20 scrap all scripts, all unlisted. What is the benefit of having this kind of user around? |
