I actually don't know how to write scripts, but found this site a great place to learn about them.

I've been playing an online game and scripts the game operators don't approve of can get you banned (as most of you probably know). Some of them actually really enhance the experience but are not approved of anyway. I'm a casual gamer (40/m, married, 8 month old son....not alot of time to play games), but I love some of these scripts! I just build and play my game, I don't use them to attack everyone in sight.

How do the game operators know if you are using the/any script?

I know, my question is, basically, "Can I cheat? If not, how can I not get caught?"

Frankly, the approval process of scripts for this game seems rather arbitrary. I've been playing for a long time and won't use them if I can't, but if I can just play and keep to myself, that would be nice.

Thanks for any input and a great sight!

In the same way that astronomers discovers extra solar system planets or an anti-doping labor discovers if an athlete has assumed drugs 6 months before or how do you discover at the morning if during the night has rained. They can't control your computer for "illegal" scripts but they can try to detect side effects of the scripts.

This subject is very interesting and could provide an amusing challange... if wasn't restricted to browser games.

hi, Richie.

If the guys are so restrictive with the scripts, why don't you find another game with more permissive admins? What game is?

I think greasemonkey have several options to not get "caught", but you can also write an windows exe with an embedded IE control and do a lot of things.
