I suppose it's the same for many games.

Small windows open in a pop up - how can I force the window into a tab?

Reason
Speed. I play speed chess and small windows are noticeably faster. I will lose every time against an equal opponent who is using small windows. I feel like I'm swimming in maple syrup.

For loads of reasons - I hate pop ups. One reason is that I use adblock plus to block ads. I *can't* play if ads are flashing.

I use Tab Mix Plus to force everything into tabs - this case is the only time I've ever had a pop up that refuses to open in a tab.

A lot probably yahoo uses the window.open(...) method, for this reason Tab Mix Plus can't force it to open in a new tab.
But what you call small windows and pop up are the same thing, a pop up is a small window opened with the options to do not show menu, status bar, tools bar, etc.
