I'd also like to know. I've tried editing the script several times, as the "extra" stories are stories that I want to read, but every minor change seems to make the script stop working altogether (I assume it's crashing).

camsgirl618, it appears that the scripts is currently broken due to Facebook having tempered with their code, again. I am sure Steve will be here with an update as soon as possible, so in the meantime, just disable it and have patience.
P.S. nice nickname, is that your AIM/MSN at the same time? ;p

Keeping 'Live Feed' stories, replied by Jangly Mark

I absolutely love this script, BUT - and it is a big but - while I don't care what lost character one of my friends is, nor do I care what they've done in Farmville - you know, the trivial stuff - I DO want to know who they have made friends with (so if a mutual friend joins Facebook, I've got a better chance of knowing about it), what groups that've joined (friends have similar politics/tastes/etc).

May I suggest that each different type of story is highlighted and captioned in the code? The version of FB Purity I have is not the latest one, I have not upgraded as this script now blocks stuff I want...and the version I have still works for the trivial stuff I want to block...but, next time FB move stuff around again (and break the code) I'm going to be stuck otherwise....

Better way to organise the Whitelist feature, replied by mlevit

Hey mate,

I just implemented this into my script but you could use GM_setValue() and GM_getValue() to create Greasemonkey variables that can be found in about:config.

That way you can have two, one for the scripts default whitelist and one for the users custom whitelist. The whitelists will always be kept in history even if the script is updated.

http://wiki.greasespot.net/GM_getValue
http://wiki.greasespot.net/GM_setValue

Thanks

The Oct 28th and 29th updates, don't block all apps..., replied by Camilo Bohórquez

Since october 28th update, the fbpurity script don't block all apps. I disable the whitelist for block absolutely all fb apps, but this last updates not block all apps.

So I decide to downgrade for the october 26th update, in the 26th update all apps have been blocked included the apps in the whitelist (Without Exception).

Add another for YouTube. I've got my account linked with Facebook to show videos I favorite, but FBP blocks them from the newsfeed.

Some might consider iLike too spammy, but I'd love to see it whitelisted without having to do it manually: app id = 2413267546

Awesome work. Thank you! I suggest this script to friends regularly!

Latest Version Not Working, replied by toniM

I installed the latest version this morning, and it is not working properly.

First, apps continue to show on the home page (Live Feed)until I click on Show for either apps blocked or extras. Then when I click hide again, the apps no longer show on the main page. But this is an annoying extra step.

Then, when I click on show extras, and need to click on Older Posts to show older extras, it mixes in status updates and apps instead of older extras. I click on hide, then show again, and I get a longer list of extras including the older ones.

Finally, when I click on show blocked apps, status updates, videos, and other regular posts are showing along with the blocked apps.

It seems this version has a lot of kinks to be worked out. Is there a way to download the older version from before this morning (10/29)?

Would it be possible to have a Boolean variable to have this feature enable or disabled. I actually like seeing those extras as part of the Live stream.

Also the show/hide part of the blocked apps/extras don't seem to work properly. eg if you show the extras, then hide them again, it seems to show the blocked apps.
