Still some blue space?, replied by Tim Lucier

Oh, I remember what they updated now. They extended the menu bar to either side of the screen rather than having it in the middle.

I've got about an inch and a half of space on either side of my menu bar that is still "facebook blue" even though the middle part has changed colours, and also the buttons when rolled over go to the ugly light blue. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I've noticed some issues with facebook's recent update, the bar extends in blue to the sides of the page, passing the colour of our choice.. Also, comments on posts on the homepage are blue again. I remember them being our colour before, but I guess facebook changed something else. Great script you have here!

Style changes missed by thie script..., replied by Ashley Curriston

On the home page, the following things are still in the default colors:
1. The whole block at the top that includes one's profile photo, and allows for entering a status. Everything included in that box is still blue.

2. On the left-hand side that allows you to view the newsfeed and whatnot, is still in default colors. This also applies to when you click on your friends at the top of the page, the list of things available to click on on the left-hand side are still in default.

3. In the top right corner, the button with the magnifying glass next to the search box is still default.

Also, I think it might be better to give the option to have more than just a dark color and a light color, simply for uniformity and so that the colors match better. For example, I do not like the grey-blue color facebook uses for everything. It would be nice if I could change that to a pretty pale green or yellow.

If I think of anything else, I will let you know.
Thanks. :D

New to Grease monkey, replied by Vinit Kohli

If i understand this right since this script is on your computer and when you browse the Facebook site, you are able to change colours on the page you visit. However, this is not for the audience at large since this is a script that runs on your computer with only Firefox. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you,

Try reinstalling the script. I have just checked again on a fresh profile and it works fine for me. If reinstalling it doesn't work, then create a new Firefox profile and only install Greasemonkey and this script on that.

Other than this I have no idea what to suggest. I can see no reason why this would only half work for you, I've tried this on a number of versions of Greasemonkey and Firefox and operating systems and I can't replicate this problem at all.

when I changed the colors on my facebook page, the only colors that changed were the links in bold and a border around my profile picture. This had me confused- I thought it would change the color of the top bar of the page like it did featured in the screen shots. Is this supposed to happen? Please clarify.
Thanks.

@ashley hunter: Firstly, you're posting in completely the wrong place; your post is not relevant to this topic. It would be better to create a new topic for this.

Secondly, if you're sure you've done everything right (have Firefox installed with the Greasemonkey add-on, and you have installed the script) then try reading the about section of this script...

To change the colours in facebook, when viewing any page on facebook simply go to 'Tools', 'Greasemonkey', 'Userscript Commands...' and then 'Customise facebook colours...' (alternatively via the same menu when right-clicking on the monkey on the bottom right). Simply select the colours you'd like facebook to be, and you're done!

@itsamutiny: I believe I've fixed everything you mention in your first post, and I've fixed the new message indicator (although it's no longer circular because that was actually an image), and additionally..

in the news feed on the homepage, there's a little arrow at the top, to the right of all the tabs. it's the right color when you're hovering over it, but the default color if you're not.

That's intentional; it's grey, this script only changes Facebook blue stuff.

the text of all drop down menus is the right color, but the background that changes when you hover over a link is still the default. everything on the settings page is default, because the script is only set to work on pages with http://, but the settings page is https://.

https://register.facebook.com/editaccount.php?r...
on this page, whichever tab is selected at the top (settings, networks, etc) is still the default. this still happened even after i changed it to affect https:// pages.
