I think it would be ace if you could specifiy which feeds open with an automatic preview and which are left as normal - alot of RSS feeds are formatted really nicely, but some are just links to their respective articles and when you read lots of both automatic preview is unhelpful for some but useful for others.

Hi, installed the script on my other pc and recognised that the GPE is not working anymore.

i fix the script cuz it was broken.
It works with greasemonkey in firefox but not with safari 4 and greasekit 1.5

awesome, thanks! This is the functionality that prompted me to install Greasemonkey tonight -- I've been missing this from the Better GReader extension for ages... Now if I can just get it to automatically show the preview so I don't have to keep clicking that little button every time... :)

There's a fix that worked for me in this thread. You have to edit the script yourself, but it seems fine after that. It's not going to help the Better GReader folks, though, since that is all bundled into an extension. You could uncheck that option in Better GReader and install (and fix) the preview script separately.

Help! Our preview button is gone now too, with the latest update. Both my husband and I are experiencing this.

Please fix! We didn't realize how dependent we'd become on the preview button until it was gone, lol.

I'm having a similar issue, but the preview button is not showing up in expanded or list. I've unchecked/rechecked the option in the settings within "Better GReader ver 0.6.1" and restarted firefox. It worked like a charm until this latest update.

As of this morning, the preview button no longer appears in Google Reader's expanded view. It does appear in list view.

I would like that option as well.
Would also like to see an option to have multiple previews open at the same, instead of how they close automatically once you click the next one.

The better Greader has the option to preview automatically when you expand an item.
What modifications would I need to make to the script to automatically preview in expanded view ?

The preview script works fine for me initially but after some time, all of a sudden Firefox starts telling me that I need to shut off my pop-up blocker option for any Google sites. The funny thing is that I already did this a while back. Any help on this would be appreciated since I love this userscript.

many thanks for the code update. i love this script.
I didnt work for me unfortunately. It added a preview button next to Edit Tags, but Clicking ">>" doesnt open up the link in an iframe still.
