now that DA uses ajax in users' galleries, this script won't work properly since there are no images when the page loads, and when you navigate the gallery, the page doesn't reload so the script doesn't run again.

i made a temporary fix for the issue, but it's an ugly hack...it just checks every second to see if the first image has been parsed by the script, and if not, it runs again.

in order to use this version, you have to hold SHIFT when you mouseover an image. i did this because i didn't like the enlarged image popping up all the time.

i also added a couple things like making the z-index 500 so the image is on top of everything. i also made the image 90% opaque. if you don't like it, you can press the edit button and remove the line containing "opacity".

@Margot: It seems to be working fine for me, but I'm only testing it on www.deviantart.com and no other pages. If you could leave more details, that might help me locate the problem.

I've fixed the problem as reported by Margot, although I can almost guarantee that it'll break again in a few months, as deviantart seems to constantly be changing.

I personally don't use deviantart, and only wrote this script for a friend. As such, I'm not registered to the site, and I have only made the script to work for deviations on the front page, which appeared on my cursory checks to work for every other one. Because of this, iI can't really comment on any problems with it not working for some images but working for others.

I don't know the details of the extension FetchMore, but the way that greasemonkey works, the script runs after the page is loaded, and so if any more stuff is loaded to the page after this time, my script will not run on that new stuff.

Oh, holy pumpkin! It's not working at all anymore! the grey square with dA logo on it appears, but the pictures don't start loading. I disabled all other userscripts and -styles and extensions that had something to do with dA - didn't help. Reistalled the script, didn't help either. What could be wrong?

I just loooovee that script. That makes usind dA so much easier. Thank you!!

However, there are some interesting little things I have noticed...

1. When I installed that script, it didn't work, even not after restarting Fx. But I was too lazy to uninstall it and one day I noticed, that it worked. That was definetly interneting.

2. When I use the Fx extension FetchMore, then after Fetching more your script doesn't work on that page (in that tab) anymore.

3. Sometimes it doesn't work on some thumbnails, while it works on others in the same gallery. Why could it be?

And well, after all that, I think it would be more beautiful if the grey tiled background, which appears before the picture gets loaded, wouldn't be tiled. I'd like if there were only one dA logo in the middle ot it or something like that.

The one I wrote does :)

...but mine isn't as good as yours. It's not actually a userscript, I have to manually paste it into the firebug console to work.

I think DeviantArt might have changed some coding or something on their site because this script no longer works. Hope you can fix it. This script is great.

You are entirely right, Mercury777. I've known about this bug with the script for quite a while and I knew exactly why it happened but never took the time to work out a fix until now. Thanks for the prod to actually do something!

I think I might have picked up a bug. Viewing images on pages using this script works fine. But after you view an image (by moving the mouse over it) and start to scroll up or down the current page, the page seems to sorta split, one part of the page doesn't scroll as fast as the other. In a way it splits the page. (where on the page depends on the size of the enlarged image). If I am unclear, please say and I'll rephrase how I said this.
