I've been using this script for years, this is not the same as using the browser "own color" option, it does not destroy stylesheet and such, I just wish there was a more sophisticated script that would tone down instead of blindly switching colors, this kinda remove a lil too much visual information, yet the main benefit is you can browse 4 times longer without eye fatigue, beats the information loss AFAIC :)

very much like the idea of this script but agree that it changes the web page too much. in fact this script seems to have the same effect as unticking "Allow pages to use their own colours" on the colours window via tools/options/content in firefox.

i'm interested in a script that softens the harshness of so many websites with white backgrounds (like many others i get migraines and have vision problems). so i'd be very interested in changing only the white background areas to ,say, grey, and leaving the rest of the website unchanged.

I don't like it. The script changes a web page far too much for it to be useful.

This is a really great script. However, one great addition would be if you could leave it enabled for all sites, but only selectively activiate it when needed. Eg, all pages by default are displayed normally, but if you hit something like Alt-P it will activate the script.

This is great for browsing noisy websites. I am considering leaving it on permanently. Otherwise, I may stick with the Zap bookmarklet Page Recolorization is based on.
