I would add event.cancelBubble = 1 to avoid running the href on that links and cause a scroll up event by the #. This will also solve a bug when clicking refresh the url will be included in the script includes.

I would like to see an improvement of this script using getValue/setValue or cookies

So if I last chosen date the next time I make a search it will sort by date.

Well, the best thing is to provide options to all greasemonkey scripts by the engine api...

I'm brandspanking new to this whole script thing. When I came here to look for some, like you, I was sorely disappointed. One of the very first searches I did was look for one for userscripts.org. Wow! You read my mind before I even thought about it. ;) Thank you! It works perfectly.

Sorry for not being around -- school has been busy the last few weeks. I still want to merge your patch in, and I have a few other changes to make, but it's going to have to wait until next weekend when classes are over.

Jon: It can't really be added to the front page, because it only sorts results within a certain page; it won't sort all the scripts on the site, it would just sort the 25 most recently updated, which really isn't all that useful.

I would like to see everything people have been downloading not just search for something and look from there.

I've modified your script for my own use to display the number of installs per day, and enabled sorting by that. I find this slightly more informative than sorting by installs, as it brings newly popular scripts higher up compared to older scripts with more installs. If you're interested, I can send it to you to show my changes. Alternatively if you'd like, I can upload it and credit you. I'm not too bothered either way, I just fancied playing with it for my own use.

Very handy. Any chance you could include the option to number the search results? It would be nice to see how scripts rank in the way of downloads, etc.

Wow! This is a must. I thought the same thing when I first started using userscripts.org. This should be hard coded into the site.
