I tested https://chaseonline.chase.com/Logon.aspx with Seamonkey 1.1.16 and Greasemonkey 0.8.20080609.0 and it works flawlessly. I think there's a bug in FF 3.0.10 that is causing this weird issue.

I just tested https://chaseonline.chase.com/Logon.aspx on FF 3.0.10 and it prompts me to remember the password after typing a user id and password and attempting to log on. Do you have the latest version of Autocomplete On installed? The one weird thing I noticed was that after the page loads, it focuses the cursor on User Id and double clicking on it doesn't bring up the dropdown for remembered users, but if you focus on something else and then focus back on User Id and double click, then it brings up the dropdown for remembered users. I wonder if that's a quirk/bug in FF?

Most of the time, "Autocomplete On" doesn't work with their logon page.
Every other site seems to work fine.

In the 3rd incarnation of this script, I have added new features and optimizations.

-Now works on sites that load everything through javascript (hotmail.com)
-Now works when websites try to turn off autocomplete in javascript after a regular form submit or javascript form submit (not ajax).

Thanks Joe Simmons for the optimizations.

Thanks Brade for mentioning that it doesn't work if a website disables it in javascript after a form submit. I've never run into a website like that but I was able to write a test case for it. In regards to your script, thanks for trying to tweak mine but yours will still be slower and run unnecessary code because greasemonkey scripts are always called in any html frame.

Optimizations:
1- Set variables as I defined them.
2- Didn't use unnecessary variables.
3- Used a counting down for() loop.

It does not seem to work at https://internetbank.swedbank.se/SecurityServer...

However, using Web Developer menu option "Enable autocompletion" works as expected. Any ideas why? Would be great if it could be fixed.

FYI I have made some updates to this script and posted it here: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/36242

I appreciate the fine work on this. I just added tweaks for forms within iframes/frames and forms affected by onsubmit behavior.

Ok but why make a main() function and then call it? Why don't you just take it out of the function and spare those few lines?

This is by far the fastest and most efficient method for enabling autocomplete on all elements that set it to off. Some other users have posted autocomplete scripts but they fail to use xpath. They loop over every element in every form and that will never be faster than regular expression matching and looping over only the autocomplete attributes that need to be changed if any. It's important that a script like this is extremely fast since it will most likely be enabled for every site you visit.
