This script breaks mailto links that pass the bcc: parameter. It looks like cc: is supported in the code, could you add bcc in there as well?

Support for mailto links with a bcc is essential for using the online contact management service Highrise from 37signals.

I posted this comment on Gina Trapani's updated version as well.

Worked for a feeling hours... But now stoped. It's only open the compose window. It's better with full gmail in compose mode and with the identification of the javascript function ?subject=

Good script, but I use the Gmail Manager extension instead of this. It has notification, multiple account management and tag monitoring built into it, along with the "mailto" management. Without having to load it through Greasemonkey.

http://www.longfocus.com/firefox/gmanager/ is the site, if anyone is interested.

This script is nice; it does what it says!!! Just a couple of ideas to make it even nicer! First, for page design aesthetics, could the Gmail icon be placed in a set of parentheses AFTER the mailto link? Secondly, how do I integrate a Mailto Alert script function (http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/2373) into this Gmail icon upon clicking. This gives me a warning and an option of whether to start logging to send email via my Gmail account. It would also be awesome if this modified script allows insertion of two icons AFTER the mailto link in parentheses: one Gmail and one default e-mail client, such as Thunderbird.

A different route: Instead of inserting the Gmail icon, a modified script can pop up a "confirmation" dialog with these options: Use Gmail, Use Default Client, and Cancel. The icons for Gmail and default e-mail client can be embedded into dialog buttons!
