It stopped working for me a couple days ago. Those that are blacklisted remain blacklisted by I cannot add anyone new as the link doesn't show up on the bulletin page.

There's only one list. Clicking "white" makes it a whilelist, and clicking "black" makes it a blacklist. So if you want to block someone, you should add them to the list and select "black."

As much as I'd like to blame MySpace, the script is probably slow because isn't especially well written. You may have better luck with another script such as this one, which includes the same functionality but is no longer maintained. I think it supports MySpace Ignore Bulletins syntax and other formats.

Something is backwards.. Its adding people you want blocked to the whitelist, not the blacklist. It should be the other way around so it's not confusing to people a bit. Plus it takes a few seconds for it top make them disappear when you have it set to only see the ones you want. When you go to a page that like half is from somebody you do not want to see and have it set that way, you actually still see them for like 5 seconds or 10 then it / they finally disappear. Just so u know, i know what m doing and write code myself on here and userstyles.org but.. Plus yes i know, i have them most recent browser and your code with a fast connection also so.. Not sure. Maybe update on this script is needed. It is a bad asss script tho and very handy. Thumbs up :)

i have a suggestion for another of a similar type, but don't know how to execute it.
i think it would be awesome if you could have this script for comments and messages.

In the next version would it be possible to have the blacklisted users come from a certain friend catagory so you could add the users you would want to block to that catagory and then add the catagory to the blacklist

That would rock. I got another idea if you don't want to actually utilize two separate lists. You could still use one list, but just add some sort of marker to have the code differentiate whether the added user is in the whitelist or blacklist. Then just add an option button or tab on the editor so the user can select if the new addition is black or white. After that it's just a matter of parsing for that marker. =)

That's right, there's only one list. It works well for most people. But if more people ask for that feature, I'll try to add it.

Would it be possible for the script to have 2 separate lists (black and white)?

Some users I never ever want to see their bulletins in my list no matter what (blacklist), while there are times when I'd like to click the whitelist button to see only the bulletins of people I add to the whitelist.

From what I can tell it currently only uses one list, so you can only either add people to blacklist OR whitelist?

As I've said in previous comments, this would probably be possible, but I'm not sure how I would do it, and it would definitely slow down the script.

would it be possible to do it this way?
when you block the bulletins it shows less bulletins...
like I can't really explain it.
like as if you deleted the person.
and you still have space to see more bulletins.
like say one friend posted a bulletin but one person in the blacklist posted 10... I still couldn't see the one a friend posted because all the bulletin space is taken up.
get what I'm saying?
could this be possible at all?

Apparently the forum software doesn't like long pseudo-URLs. Replace the instances of "..." with "space".

Enter about:config in your address bar and go to the preference called:

greasemonkey.scriptvals.http: //www.theworldofstuff .com/greasemonkey/ /MySpace Ignore Bulletins.show

If it's there, set the value to only_specified (to whitelist), not_specified (to blacklist), or all (to show all). Then restart Firefox and ensure that the change has stuck.

If it hasn't, you may need to create a file called user.js in your Firefox profile folder and enter the following line into it:

user_pref("greasemonkey.scriptvals.http ://www.theworldofstuff .com/greasemonkey/ /MySpace Ignore Bulletins.show", "not_specified");

replacing "not_specified" with a different setting if you prefer. That setting will then be the default when you start Firefox.

The script seems to keep switching back to showing "All" bulletins instead of only showing the ones I allow. Is there a way to fix this? It happens everytime I have to sign on.

Just to clarify, my previous comment is no longer valid as the Home Auto-Update script should now automatically work with this one.

Yes, I've been slaving over the script to make it work with Enhanced Bulletins, and now it works for me. To use this script with Enhanced Bulletins add the function call to line 194 to the latest version of Home Auto-Update. If it doesn't work, let me know what kind of error message you get if anything.
