Thank you for your response. I have tried to manipulate the code myself but I've not done very well.

'subject' is a class tag on my theme and it denotes the start of a new post. How would I express that (or say, 'date') here:

// Anything else
{ xpath: most_frequent_header() }

I don't know the first thing about xpaths you see.

LiveJournal has themes that can have completely different markup, so there is no general solution for that.

The script works with the LiveJournal theme I use. For other themes, the script can be customized with XPaths. See the source.

I don't know if the author of this script still visits this page but I thought I would make a new discussion about this. This script doesn't work on Livejournal and I would love if it could.

I would love to be able to use this on Livejournal but I can't get it to work at all. Is there any way the script writer could update it/ fix it? I would be so grateful!

I'm afraid this script doesn't work for me at all (on LJ, wordpress or forums).

Now @excludes Bloglines; ironically, the default handler was messing it up.

Added default handler – if nothing else is configured, it will navigate between headers (<h1> etc).
