Nope, that's my fault. I'll add it to my list and get it fixed in the next release. Sorry.

script error, replied by dba

I just installed the script and went to the Woot page. When I clicked on "I Want One" I got this error:

TypeError: document.getElementsByTagName("h3")[0].firstChild.childNodes[1] is undefined

Is this because there is not a woot-off at this time?

Progress on Paypal?, replied by md5sum

I'm planning on having it done some time next week, but since this is just a pet project, I'm not entirely sure. I've had a little extra thrown on my plate at work the last week or so, and so work on this has had to be cut back.

If you have the latest copy of the script, you'll get notification when you visit woot.com when I update the script again. Thanks!

I'm not sure on the null thing... My Mac had that problem, but my PC did not. I'll be taking a little more of a look at the few issues there were and be sending out a new patch in the very near future. For now though, you can still enjoy the other features :-) And if anyone see something that isn't working, either during a WootOff, or at any time, feel free to drop me a line through the email feature of the site!

I think the test is a good idea. My gut tells me that Woot will change things again (like the forwarding issue for this WootOff). By having the ability to test the script at the beginning of a WootOff, it will increase the likelihood of success.

Again, thanks for a great script.

sound effects, replied by Strangeite

A sound alert would be a helpful addition. I found myself running a VNC client on my iPhone so that I could turn off the screen saver on my computer, just so I could keep on eye from my couch if a BOC showed up.

(Yes I am aware that it would have been easier to just turn off my screen saver, but I will admit that I was stupid enough not to think of this).

OK, then how about this: Instead of going to the order page automatically with each new woot, how about activating the script if I press the I Want One button, bringing me to the final confirmation page. That way I can test that it is working during a woot-off.

Not really, although in a way it will. Leaving the page will stop any running javascript. However, the script should be able to pick up where it left off and continue the order process for you.

It could be made an option, but it would be useless I believe for the vast majority of users who need to eat, work, sleep, etc. and can't keep canceling Woot script buys every few minutes. BUT, in the interest of satisfying the majority, if I can get 200 unique user (about 40% of the users) comments of "Yes" votes on this thread, I'll implement it as an optional feature. So, greasemonkey users... GET INVOLVED!

It failed, but not due to the number. Woot automatically fixes that. The failure came from the fact that Woot has added a mandatory forward to their https://sslwww from the standard https://www for this wootoff... I've fixed it and pushed out an update.

Hopefully we'll all get our Random Crap soon...
