There's a new version of similiar script, which works with new gmail UI and allow you to turn fixed font on and off easily: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/37471

Even though I can use the updated version of Gmail, I use the older version just so I can keep using your script (it's included on Better Gmail). Any chance you might consider updating the fixed font for the new and snazzy Gmail2?
